Sounds like Matt was in a rehabilitation center.
Lidocaine can provide certain relief for some pain. Don't know if would use the stuff except for its intended purpose. Thankfully, have never had to find that out.
Matt sounds like quite a character.

Hi Brett,
he's quite the character indeed. His life has been one huge challenge from very early on. I suppose what he went through when he was young has helped to prepare him for what he's going through now. I think what has helped him the most though is his outstanding sense of humor. Thanks so much for the excellent review.
Have a blessed day.

Bladder infection and had pneumonia so she had to go to this place to recover recover. She just fell out of her bed and got more pneumonia so she had to go to this place again. This is funny because I often tack on preparation h i just saying it's kind of a funny phrase like we got to get we have to have the preparation h to go on our trip or something. I love the addition for pile also...what a riot.

Hi Liz,
its so nice to hear from you. I hope all is well. I runs in my mind there was an issue either with you or your husband falling back in the winter, unless I'm mistaken.
Anyway, I'm so glad there are places like Maple Springs. It sounds like a retirement home, but it's not, although there are a lot of older people there. They come and go as they please, and some even go out front and smoke pot on the grounds, as long as they don't do it inside it's OK I guess. If it works, I don't care. I just don't want them hopping in a car and driving afterwards. I keep a tube of Preparation H in a bathroom drawer. You never know when you might need it. Thanks for the fine review gal.
Have a blessed day.

Very funny. I love your description of the Lidocaine cream. Numby stuff. Different kinds to go in different places...Great for Matthew. Off loading his cream on you.
Try rubbing sleepy eyes after using biofreeze....
Now you can get CBD lotions and potions. It is all about believing. If you believe it works, it will.
Want to hear Matthew's stories. Esther

Hello Esther,
thanks for the great review and comments gal. I'm glad he shared his wealth with me. I just wish the cream would last a little longer. The relief is very short lived.
I sat down with Matt on Sunday and he regaled me some more with his fascinating tales. His life has been quite an adventure. I'm hoping that I can find enough to put it into a book. At this point I think I'll have enough. My biggest fear is that he'll leave and I won't get all of his story, but I'm going to spend much time thinking of that.
Have a blessed day.

This story was definitely entertaining and amusing, and you told it well. I found your musings on hemmorhoid creams very funny, though it's not really a funny topic. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Hello Jessi,
thanks so much for the glowing review gal. You're so right, having an affliction like hemorrhoids can you give you a pain where the sun doesn't shine and it's probably not a laughing matter, but what are you to do? I try to find humor where I can get it, even in places I don't really care to search out. Have a blessed day gal.

You're funny I got a good laugh at some of your remarks. I have something I rub on for back and knee pain, and it is hot rather than cold I think I about to go up in flames but it does stop the pain overnight. My brother in law had both legs removed for dibetics he had since he was a child. He got prosthetics and get right on going. I had six stars left so get them.

Thanks so much Beth for the exceptional review gal. I wish I could find something that would offer a permanent solution to the pain. It may end up taking surgery, I don't know. When I went to visit my friend Matt last week, he mentioned that the guy who makes his prosthetics gave him a woman's foot by mistake. He couldn't understand why it didn't fit in his shoe well, and when he tried to stand on the leg, it didn't work too well. He's since gotten it replaced, but how the heck could the guy not know what he was fitting Matt with? Oh well, it all worked out.
Have a blessed day.

It is interesting and somewhat amazing how something designed to treat one particular physical condition winds up being used for something else entirely different. The human body is so complex that we may never know how it fully works.

Hello Nomi,
thanks so much for the thoughtful review. You're right about the human body. As King David mentioned, we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Its amazing that we have come so far in curing so many health issues, and yet the pains that we all suffer every day can be hard to combat effectively. Thanks for commenting.
Have a blessed day.

Good ol' Lidocaine. It comes in a 5% patch, which my doctor prescribed. I've used it for years on my back. Then my insurance stopped paying for it so the doctor recommended I use over-the-counter 4% Salonpas, which is still Lidocaine.
But guess what? I have rheumatoid arthritis, and the medication prescribed is for malaria. It works. I hope these doctors know what they're doing when they tell you to take or use something designed for a condition you don't have.
I enjoyed your story and the memories it brought back.

Hello LJ,
the cream I have is 5%, but it doesn't last very long. It does give some very temporary relief though. I need to see a doctor about this if it doesn't stop bothering me soon. It makes it really hard to stand on my feet for any length of time, and even sleeping is difficult because of the nagging pain all night long. Thanks for the fine review and comments gal. Have a blessed evening.

Matt seems like quite a guy. Does he know you are writing this story? BTW, when you said, "In any event, we were visiting," I was wondering who the other person was visiting with you?
Thanks for sharing information on pharmaceutical stuff.

Hi Shanbreen,
I dropped in on him yesterday and told him about the story. He was pretty excited that people he didn't know were praying for him. When I mentioned we were visiting, I meant Matthew and myself. He's an exceptional fellow. I don't know where he gets the ability to carry on, with all the issues he's faced, but he's actually doing quite well, perhaps because of his outstanding attitude and sense of humor. Thanks so much for the great review.
Have a blessed evening.

Matt sounds like he has lived an interesting life. I know a few people, like Matt, who are suffering from severe illnesses, and I am always amazed at how positive they are. I am sure there are some days when they do get down in the dumps, but they never show it. An excellent, well written piece. I enjoyed reading it.

Hello Jacob,
thanks so much for the great review. I don't think I would be able to handle the same troubles that Matt has dealt with, at least not with as grand of an attitude as he has. He's really a lot of fun to hang out with.
Have a blessed evening.

I am out of six star reviews, but this story is wonderful and so deserving. I like how your mind works. In this post, you took a topic like Lidocaine and blew it into a story that engaged me with every word. My favorite comment from among the many that I enjoyed was your comment about Jan reading the tube. Good for her. And good for you for using the stuff anyway.
You made lidocaine interesting. I can't wait to see what you do with The Book of Matthew.

Hello Debbie,
thanks so much for the great review gal. I like the Lidocaine, but I wish it would have a longer lasting effect. I get tired of taking Tylenol or Ibuprofen, which only provide temporary relief as well. I've interviewed Matt a few times so far. He's had a most interesting life. I think I'll be sitting with him for a number of hours yet trying to get his story down pat. Have a blessed evening gal.
