I'm sorry that today hurt. What I'm hoping is that it's from growth more so than sorrow. One thing I can say with certainty is that I remember a relationship that felt exactly like what you've so expertly described here, and I felt pain all the time. Once I ended that relationship, I opened myself up to discover a love that was light and happy and pain-free a good ninety percent of the time. A good relationship is work, yes, but it's NOT excruciating. It's not pain-free, but the pain isn't overwhelming, and it leads to resolutions. Real love is actually very easy. When I was in the relationship you've described here, I found that concept unimaginable. Now I find anything but this fun and happy type of co-mingling I know incomprehensible. I would NEVER return to daily pain and frustration, and I hope you will be able to know that same freedom very soon, too. I'm sending you so much love today. xoxo

I really like this free verse poem with its lovely descriptive language. It has much with which a reader can relate in dealing with relationships. I like the artwork which matches your words perfectly. Well done!

Wow! Your words and emotions within them have definitely captured the painful feeling of loving some one and not having the love returned. It's difficult to pull away and accept when the heart keeps yearning for more. Very well done!

Ah the sting of unrequited fading love. This is a strongly worded poem which reminds us of how difficult it is to withdraw from love even when it isn't returned fully. I love your expressions, your very first line, "How is it you are always farther, the closer I begin to feel" instantly draws me in to the complexities of love. Also liked, "what are words for a bridge, when love strikes my reason dumb". You know what might be interesting? A companion piece where the other person attempts a reply. I'm not a very good critic of poetry but I know what I like. I like this. Oh, and the art is perfect.

You've really captured the feeling of being the person of the relationship that feels more than the other and how much that hurts with the briars references, I love your words and phrasing style it's touching on Shakespeare with a modern twist.
Well done I really enjoyed this!

It is very hard when you've tried to give as much of yourself as you can to have somebody that would not want to give them self as well. I enjoyed your prom and yet at least me with a feeling of sadness. Patricia.

Hi, K.Olsen

What hurt you? Wow, it must be something bad. You're attacking yourself with all these things that you're talking about.

It's very sad. Did he break up with you? It would help to know why you're sad why you're castigating yourself

I'm sorry you feel this way

I enjoyed reading your poem

Good job. Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful poem. Elegant in its makeup and so blunt at times I fel the pain. Love stings yea. Especially when you fall for someone who isn't able to fall like that, for anyone.
