I saw one typo, where a quotation mark was missing just before the word "Why."
She froze.
'Oh, of course, it was Mr...' she thought.
Why it's Sally? I guess you are here with Mummy."

This story is absolutely delightful! I loved Sally's determination and the way Ted's kindness made her feel so special. The setting is beautifully described. The ending left me smiling. This was heartwarming and I enjoyed every moment of it!

Thanks, Dolly. With the little difficulties I have, it was easy to create, plus dear friends in my childhood had a wonderful staircase. Thank you for suggesting that it was suitable for the prompt.
