'Victory in Jesus' I learned and sang as a child and still sing it often today. It helps me unwind. This contest entry brings to me many songs I grew up learning. Thank you for that. Good luck with the contest.

This is absolutely beautifully written, and I enjoyed listening to it very much. The old hymns that you have mentioned in this are very familiar to me. I also remember in my youth going to tent revivals and those were actually very special because they had so dust on the floor and it was quite an interesting experience. May you have a blessed day. Patricia.

Oh, another No Rules Contest! Like the picture that fits this poem. From seeds to fruit within my heart,
These wondrous hymns have blessed,
Allowing me to taste His grace
And know His righteousness.
A favorite quatrain. Nice poem! Fits the parameters of this lingering contest. This may be the apple of my eye? Voting day is soon!; this is a strong contender. BOO is no pretender.

Wonderful memories here Verna and I used to love hymns at my school as we sung in the Church every week, as I attended a church school. I have fond memories of those that were my favourites. Your well rhymed poem flows like a song, much enjoyed, love Dolly x x x
My all time favourite Hymn is Eternal Father, Strong to Save. The original hymn was written in 1860 by William Whiting, an Anglican churchman from Winchester, United Kingdom.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. I'm glad we share fond memories of enduring friends. I remember singing your favorite hymn. Since Dad was a preacher and I went to church colleges and I sang in church choirs so many years, I gained a real love for the hymns. Hugs, Verna

What a beautiful poem, with its smoothness and fine rhythm. The message is a beautiful one, and it must have been such a wonderful childhood to have such godly parents, and to all sing together. Best wishes for the contest.

Good morning, Verna.
Excellent spiritual poem. Amazing Grace was one of the first songs I knew.
I like the metaphor of planting seeds, and your faith bearing good fruit.
Have a wonderful day.
Best wishes,
Cindy

I might have missed this beautiful poem filled with hymns my family sang, and hymns I played in church as the pianist, had it not been for Cindy Decker 3. I read her Happy Anniversary poem and discovered you are celebrating your 66th wedding anniversary. God has mightily blessed you and your husband, Leon.
I have been married close to 60 years. Both your poem and your marriage have put a big smile on my face. God is good.

Verna, This is a very lovely and well written poem you have penned for the No Rules Poetry contest. It made me think of our little church. We have camp meeting and feel the Holy Spirit's presence with us. We are blessed to have a true preacher of the Gospel in our church. We are very blessed to attend Clay brook Church of God. Tom, my husband, and I clean the church each week. Tom usually does, but if I am able, I go with him and help him. Thank you for these great memories! Best wishes in the contest. Teri
