I know some men are horrendous abusers, but I can't imagine how any woman can take what they get. If push came to shove, I would send a letter to the police with photos, then get out of there? Or take an overdose so the hospital sees the wounds. But unless you are in that situation, no one knows what we'd do. :( On to the next chapter.

They should be caught, but they bank on women being afraid to turn them in. Most of the time this is the case.
Thank you for the awesome review, Sandra.
God bless,

A very good chapter that, again, is an easy read.
It has fantastic sensory descriptions that shows and not tell.
Very good dialogue that moves the story along well.
Thank you for sharing.

This is really getting good, Steve. Lot's of potential victims now--if Dodie Rae can manage to avoid the police. However, she doesn't seem frightened by his presence and almost seems willing for an encounter with him, knowing the beast within her will likely have the upper hand.
I love the confidence it has given her. I just hope she doesn't get too careless with it.
The writing is getting much better with the technical issues. I didn't see any problems this time. I like the larger font size too. Great job with this exciting story.

Nice plotting progress.
It doesn't matter for your story, but the mail deliverers are instructed to remove anything placed into mail boxes not placed by themselves.
Best wishes.

Thank you, Wayne, for the excellent review and insight. I wasn't aware of this, and you are the second person to let me in on this little gem. When the book is complete, I will rewrite it and have them place it on the door or porch.
God bless,
Steve

Things really do seem to be heating now and I'm pretty sure things aren't going to go well for Officer Riley, Dodie Rae certainly seems like a woman on a mission. A well written piece, I enjoyed reading it.

Thank you, Jacob, for this excellent review, my friend. Officer Riley must watch his Ps and Qs, but I fear it's not in his nature. He's in her crosshairs, it seems.
God bless,
Steve

It is sometimes hard to read because I have lived through some of it, which is why, I kill off/injure men. It makes me feel better in a safe way. Good writing.

It certainly looks like Dodie Rae has her job cut out, and a steady supply of baddies to deal with, and deal with them she will undoubtedly. Boy there are some losserx in this world, and Dodie Rae is the hero ridding the world of them, beautifully written Steve. Blessings Roy

Thank you, Roy. It seems that Dodie Rae is looking to clear the lot. The next chapter may tell us when and where, or maybe we already know. I'll be working on this shortly.
God bless,
Steve

Office Riley isn't going to survive the night, is he. You're doing a wonderful job telling this story.
Sam smiled, "I'll get my things." (smiled. Smiled isn't a speech tag, but an action tag, so needs a period after it.)

Thank you, Barbara, for the excellent and helpful review. Dodie Rae does seem to be out for blood, and Riley may be the target. The next chapter will reveal a lot.

There must be something in the water around that town! All the men are abusive creeps! But Dodie Rae is on the case! And as interested as I was with the storyline, the only thing I could think of, as a former postal clerk, was that putting an unstamped envelope in any mailbox was illegal and could lead to major fines. LOL This shouldn't be a problem for your story, it's just a problem that after all the years i've been away from the Post Office that i still recall that kind of garbage lol

LOL! I suppose our past comes to haunt us in the end. I never knew this tidbit of information. Thank you for the excellent review, Marilyn. I think men like this like to disguise themselves by hiding in the country.

Thank you, Gypsy. She is the Louisiana werewolf called the Rougarou. A shape shifter if you will. I'm happy it's holding your attention. I am enjoying the story myself.
God bless,
