This one-hundred-word story, A Thing of Beauty, has the proper word count and tells the shocking story of a heartless neighbor with a chainsaw. Now they wonder what happened to her.

Bill, she is not a likeable person; each of the neighbours is in agreement. She keeps out of the road now. The tree was perfectly healthy and beautiful Thank you for your review

I'm not sure how the neighbor is a coward for cutting down a tree on her own property, but the rest of what you wrote was really well penned, and the words fit really naturally in the entry. This ought to be a strong contender in the contest, and has the feel of something real.

There was recently a story in the Wall Street Journal about a rich lady poisoning a tree on her neighbor's property. She faced massive fines and public shaming once she was found out, and the drama continues to play out today years after the fact.

Nice work,

🦍

I think that is a trifle worse than our neighbour who may have the right to get rid of a tree: our objection was it was perfectly healthy. Thank you for the review and the wee story about the other lady.
