It is a sad, but hopeful poem tgat brings me ti thoughts of one dealing with cancer. This can be a very difficult period of time in a person's. Have seen my share of reality that such a a thing brings. I have also witnessed the hope and joy of seeing it defeated.
Great way of expressing about this topic.

I wonder why the locks of hair are falling - did she go in? cut her hair?
I liked the lovely illustration and the "waves of pain" because often pain comes in waves. I liked the "creek of hope" best because even with an ocean of problems, just small creek of hope will help us.

Ah. When I lost my hair due to chemo, it was more like it just fell off like a tree losing its leaves. I guess I think of "lock" as a snip of hair that people kept as souvenir.
I thought you were referring to maybe the lock that a ship goes through at first...with all the water imagery.

I wonder if this would make it clearer:
"as her hair falls out
into a stream of hope"
Anyway, I visualized the falling hair becoming a stream and because the chemo is working there is hope.
