Lovely! This one made me smile. They're so tightly curled up as though in a bun. Your 11 word verse is fluent with some delightful rhyming and an excellent sense of feline satisfaction. Well done and good luck! Debbie

Cats are very entertaining, there is never a dull moment with them.
My Paco loved to take a walk in the neighborhood but once back, he would curl up like a bun and have a snooze.
I found a few months ago a pic of an orange cat curled up on an oven tray full of freshly made croissants.. the cat was in one of the dents ...unfortunately, I misplaced it.
Obviously, the tray was warm, and being orange, at first I didn't notice him among the croissants. (biggrin)
I hope to recover the pic one day and use it here on fanStory

Hi
This is a cute picture that goes with the words of this well done essence poem. It is a good metaphor of how we feel after a long time out in the sun.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Have a wonderful weekend.

I appreciate the kind words and thank you for the extra shiny star!
I have had many pet cats and they make life very colourful.
My Paco used to love doing his rounds outside: when he returned he would curl up on the couch and snooze. Many times my father would join him and take a catnap too.

You are most welcome on all accounts, Tempeste. I had a calico cat named Cleo you like being outside. She was a hunter and was known to return from the farmers field behind us with rodents and a couple of times small pheasants.

Oh, now will I ever chose in this contest! It's hard to beat this precious row of cats curled up in a ball. Wonderfully written and illustrated for the essence poetry contest. Sending along my good wishes for this one!

Cats are great subjects. I had many and each one had a personality of its own. I'm happy you enjoyed reading my entry.
I couldn't find the pic I originally had in mind to use, this one was my second-best choice, glad you liked it.
