This Halloween poem, Long After, certainly does pull the readers into this house, in the throes of dilapidation, to find the long-forgotten prisoner, trapped and probably near death, still suffering with the pains of being alive in a place of the dead.
Thumbs up to you and salute to Dean.

This was so deliciously spooky that I had to six star it.

I mean 'behind the wall'. That is spooktacular.

Great job here. I have always liked your 'fright' pieces.

The poets are all getting ready for Halloween and even the contests have started. You have definitely honored Dean's memory with this contest entry. The presentation and the poem are perfect. Good luck with the contest.

Yes, I've heard of Dean but I think he was before my time. Wow, Gypsy, his influence must have been impressive. The images are superb as your hauntingly evolving verse skilfully reaches its horror-filled conclusion. I'm not quite ready for Halloween yet but this is going to freak out the competition, that's for sure! Well done and good luck! Debbie

Very well depicted horror poem, giving great imagery through its words and picture. The black and white motif intensifies the horror. Well done, it brings the chill behind the true horror of Halloween. I never cared for this celebration myself, but I know that it is well received by many.

Dean is the king of horror. I enjoyed the hell out of his work and appreciated the time he took to help me along. The piece above that you so eloquently offered is right up my alley and his too. Great Job, Gypsy. By the way, I'm not too fond of spiders.
God bless,
Steve

It's funny the minute I read this I immediately thought of Dean, this is the same as he would write in his inimitable way, but then again you've made Dean's memory live on. Well done, blessings Roy
