Sorry I missed reading this earlier. This birthday poem is lovely, with all the interesting chapters of Sally's life described. I love that you called her the jukebox queen! Yes, she loves her music! Thanks for writing such a nice poem for sweet Sal. Blessings! Carol

Debi,
I thought I knew Sally until your lovely poem.
It sounds as though she's had tremendous sadness in life, but she persevered and is victorious.
Exceptional poem, Debi.
I'm glad to know all these things about Sally!
Best wishes,
Cindy

I've said it before. You really do write the nicest and most sincere greetings on Fanstory you come across as a genuine and caring friend. You are also an outstanding writer. I'm envious of your talent and Fanstory is all the better as a writer's site because of members like you.

Hi Debi,
I loved your birthday poem for our dear Sally. It's my privilege to know her. She's a gem in these Fanstory halls.
I have 5 of her books, and enjoying the End Times chapters she's writing now. She knows her scriptures.
You managed to pack a lot of info about her life into your poem. Most importantly, she's a Christian who loves her family. Jack is a wonderful husband, hand-picked by God most assuredly!
I enjoyed her Top 50 songs, too. She has an ear for good music. It's too bad that her vision has gradually failed her. But just imagine when the day comes that she finds herself in Heaven. What a sight that will be, eh?
Thanks for sharing this. Somehow I didn't know it was her birthday on Saturday.
Hugs,
Kimbob

Kimbob, it is so good to see you. I thank you so much for all the kind comments for Sally and her poem. I know how much Sally thinks of you and you know how much I do too.
She will appreciate them too as she is listening to all the birthday wishes too.
And thanks for the honor of your six stars, dear friend. Love, Debi

Hi Deb,
I wrote Sally a birthday greeting. I call her "Little Fan". She likes that. It's the part I gave her last Christmas when I wrote about Fanstory's presentation of "A Christmas Carol". I gave her the part of Scrooge's sister.
Hugs,
Kimbob
-
When did you write it?
-
Hi Debi,
I wrote "A Fanstory Christmas Carol" on December 18th of 2023. I gave you a part in it, too. You played "The Ghost of Christmas Past"! I chose you for that part because you have the dirt on everybody! LOL. /Kimbob

Oooh, I so remember it. Haha! I didn't know if there was something new but I may have to go back and look at that again. That is when I am not so busy.
You are such a good guy, Kimbob and Sal and I are blessed to have you for a friend. Hugs!!

How did I miss this? It's amazing! Our Sall has been through a lot in her life, losing so many brothers, as well as her parents. Her pain through those loses is something many of us understand. But she has grown with the love of all her family, her husband is her true rock, and the love of her life. God is there, walking beside her, and also lives in her heart. This is a beautiful poem, for a beautiful lady, written by a beautiful author. Well done, my dear friend. Sandra xxx

That is too sweet. How many people you have written special tributes to that I have read already, and I am a newcomer. What a gift of encouragement you have. You mentioned a formatting issue, I noticed Jack,; Esther

Thank you Esther for such a sweet review and words for Sally's poem.
Yes, I usually use formatting instead of Normal, to the left of Font. Anyway, it would not let me use it for this one. Formatting makes it so there is not such a large space between the lines, among other things. You mentioned Jack, but I am not sure what you were trying to say?
One more thing, is I just looked and I don't have your birthday down. I would love to write for you when the time comes? You can let me know, ok?
Thanks again, my sweet friend. I appreciate your kind review. Debi

Oh, just had a comma then a semi-colon. My hubby and I share July 15 as our birthdays...gets expensive. We love our Harley trike and tent camping, Daisy comes with us. I have two sons, Joel is VP of crowdstrike and Rick the younger has schizophrenia. Gary moved into my downstairs apartment to care for Rick and married his mom...smiles. You are precious.
-
Oh Esther, instead of waiting a whole year, how about I write my next one as a belated birthday to you?
If that is ok, I would need you to be watching for me to pm you with any questions.
I am thinking this week sometime. I am guessing release on Wednesday? Also I would need a few of your favorite songs and the singers or band.
-
Odd, but I grew up behind the times with American music. As an MK in boarding school I remember "Dizzy, I'm so dizzy....my head is spinning, and Yummy Tummy, I got love in my tummy. Sad. My first boyfriend played me "Cherish is a word I use to describe...." and my song with my hubby (shot gun wedding) is Izzy singing somewhere over the rainbow.
My grand-daughter Morgan about whom I wrote "grandpa I have to pee" used to come in our bedroom, dressed in her fairy dress, and turn on Izzy. I have so many stories I want to dedicate to her memory. She died age 7.
-
I do remember that story but I do not know if I reviewed it or not. Isn't that where he has her go behind the tree?
Can you remind me of what she died from. My sisters girl was 13 and I still miss her so much, but that was leukemia. I will be watching to see when you post another story about her.
So is Wednesday good for you or should I wait till Thursday and I will make it a belated one but I will do it up just right for you. Remember I may have more questions once I start. You don't have to tell me anything you don't want to tho.
-
Missing my Munchkin is about Morgan's death. My first half African son Joel is her dad, about which I shared the first few chapters of his life as a birthday gift. After I shared with him all he said was "interesting". It was a bit much. My second son is the one who is mentally ill. It is all there in my stories but they are not written in order as I really wasn't as organized as I should have been. Just writing my memories. I happened on this site by chance and love it.
-
And we love having you. You are now a part of a new family.
-
Couple questions:
1. Was Gary a home health care guy that came in to help your son? And then you two fell in love and got married?
2. So you have two sons, one is a vp for crowdstrike, a company of some sort?
And one has mental health issues? Are you ok with me using everything you told me? I do love the story how Gary came to help your son and then married you. That and the fact that you and Gary share the same birthday will be fun to use too.
3. What color is your motor Harley. I thought I would either ask you for a nice picture of it or download one the same color. Up to you. If you want to send anything to me, debipm@icloud.com
4. Is Daisy your dog?
5. Is there anything else you want to tell me? Or is that your family> you, Gary and your two sons?
6. Is tomorrow ok with you then? I need you to come on in the morning sometime and take a look at it. I will do what I can to make it a six star quality poem for you but I just need you to tell me if you want any changes. I tend to hold my breath until I know for sure that you love it. I have never had anyone not love it but still it could happen and I am not happy if you are not happy. 😃
And I love all of your song choices as I grew up with these songs and have been singing them since you mentioned them. LOL, thanks a lot. Haha.

Jeepers, boy have I got a lot of explaining to do....still answering replies and have not even gotten to the reading of anything yet!

Thank you Debi for this wonderful commemoration of one of our very best FanStorians. I love how you have once again brought us new insight into both her joys and her sorrows. I was interested to see that she was born in Atlanta because I live in Jefferson, approximately 30 miles east of Atlanta. I also lived in Florida for 12 years. Sally is a delightful writer who loves Jesus very much. As a retired minister that is near and dear to my heart!

This is a great send up for one of my favorite writers on the site. How she gets out all her work and keeps her novels interesting and compelling is a marvel. Thank you, Debi, for highlighting her.
