I could connect to your words .
My best friend Lucia uses smoke to destress.
She has been her father's sole carer for 15 years and he passed away at home nearly two years.
The last year of his illness ( he was praralised on his right side of his body and he had Alzheimer) was pure hell.
No help from her three siblings and very little help from the health system here in our country.
Now she is looking after her mother whose health is getting worse.
Living in the same house of her parents makes everything worse.. not a moments rest.. so she often is out on her tiny balcony and takes a puff.
She says it helps her stay sane.

This rather effectively captures the ugliness of the habit you depicted, both visually and verbally. My only suggestion is to use bigger font, for the older folks with weaker eyes (a large percentage of the readers here).

I like this poem. It easily creates a mental image, and I like the comment in the second stanza of how it's ineffective at taking away the pain and stress that causes you to smoke.
