I enjoyed the opening of your poem with the alliteration on the (f) letter. These fluttering friends are a joy and I have never seen a real hummingbird as we don't have them in the UK, a fine poem, love Dolly x x x

This poem, Conversations with a Hummingbird, covers the many entries that the buzzing bird has presented itself to the poet. Certainly, the only still hummingbird I have ever seen is in a book.

This is an excellent poem about the hummingbird. Did you know some scientists think hummingbirds are a deviant cross between an insect and a bird, a fluke that happened thousands of years ago? --National Geographic.
Nonetheless your poem symbolizes the beauty of making a friend without tethering it . She comes to you gracefully and willingly.
What a wonderful poem. Nice photo too.

Thank you so much! I have seen Hummingbird Moths which I at first mistook for a hummingbird, but I hadn't heard about the idea of birds being a cross between insect and bird. Interesting!
