This is a really intense chapter and I thought you did a brilliant job with the dialogue in this piece and with setting the scene as well. I really liked Dodie Rae, and I'm looking forward to seeing where you take her next from here. An excellent piece, I'm looking forward to reading more.

So, Dodie Rae believes she becomes a rougarou when she has punished an abusive husband. I thought she was going to get back with her husband, but he must have hit her one too many times. Now she is an avenger for other women with abusive husbands. I look forward to seeing where you are going with this.

Thanks goodness it's a fictional story because it sounds so alike like in reality. Your story telling is pretty common, and I have heard, and seen a similar abused going on in a real-life situation. I like your introduction in the background, and your title is pretty catchy. Good luck to your ongoing writing this story, and best of luck.

It's interesting how Dodie Rae is slowly learning about this beast inside her and what triggers it to come out. Sounds like a handy tool to have, IF you can control it, but as with an addiction, it often gets to controlling you instead. This is a really interesting story.

If I could make a suggestion about naming of characters. Unless there's a particular reason for it, it's easier on the reader to keep characters straight if names aren't too similar (Sadie and Sam, Carey and Riley).

I had that problem in my story that you're reading now. Some people mistook Artie, who is Tommy's friend with Archie, who is Alan's cat. In my second draft, I changed the friend's name to Vinnie, but then that rhymed with Ginnie, so I changed her name to Jenny. No one would mistake Vinnie for Ginnie, but it just seemed weird to have two names rhyming like that, so I made a slight change to Ginnie and called her Jenny for draft-2.

These are great suggestions, Jim. I never thought about it, but it makes a ton of sense. Poetry tends to slip into our works at times. Thank you for always being willing to help with your reviews.

Well, thanks to her abusive husband taking out a life insurance policy making Sam look like she has a motive, now the police think she is their suspect. Interesting to see how she proves that regardless of how she felt, she didn't do it.
Smiles, Carol

This is where the story starts to take a turn. The police look at what they think is obvious motive and forget the possibilities this could be supernatural.
Thank you for this excellent review, my friend.

no doubt they found out about the policy and think sam glommed onto the other man's demise as a way to off her own abuser. Guys better start behaving. Too bad this isn' t true. :-)

You know, with the exception of Bay Lynn's husband, most of them won't change. Thank you for this excellent review, Karen.

Sadie, Sam, and Dodie Rae don't get in trouble with the law but it looks bad for sam because Keith took out a life insurance policy worth $250.000.

I like the books story line.

Well done

I am understanding that the Police think Sam possibly killed her abusive husband, Keith. Not at all good. Why am I not surprised? You're doing a very good job writing this. Thank you.

Wow! Thank you, Barbara. I look forward to your reviews. Editing is exhausting for me, as I have dyslexia. I've fought my whole life, trying to stay ahead of it. The truth is, I don't see things like everyone else. I have to accept that, lol. I spend hours on a chapter trying to catch all the editing issues, yet they still evade me. Mostly quotations and capital letters.

I understand. I don't have dyslexia and still don't see all my errors.

I wonder how editor's do it, lol.

I have no idea, but my work, before it's published goes through three professional editors, and it still has small errors. I doubt any long writing can be perfect.

Oh, cool. Well, I don't feel so abnormal after all, lol.
I am hoping to have a novel published one day.

Well, unfortunately, this cowboy is already out of bullets so early in the week, but I'm not 70 reviews behind and trying to catch up like the last few weeks. LOL. Thanks for sharing another fine chapter.
