Perhaps something that nourishes the soul is a sacrifice rather than a temptation, that's the thing that brings the thrill, when the need is too great for you to fix, but you feel that you can, that's faith, when you defend someone beyond your ability, that's love, beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy

Amen to that! I can't keep anything chocolate in the house...not a candy bar, or even frosting to bake. My brain screams don't eat it, but somewhere temptation says just a little bite.... and then it's gone or moved to my waist.

I liked this entry for the Temptation Poetry writing prompt competition. There are so many kinds of temptations to keep an eye out for and it takes a strong constitution and will power to resist them so they don't mess you up! But a little slip here or there is sometimes needed to keep one sane. Your poem presented this quandary nicely! Well done!

BTW I am watching Eve a K drama that focuses on revenge, with subtext about lust, desire and the power of the Tango dance form. Well done. It is on netflix.
But as you indulge, and the moment does pass,
You might find yourself with a little more mass.
So laugh at temptation, don't let it take its toll,
