Well, I don't want to live there. I have new picture for you it is so cute. And I have never seen it anywhere else. You haven't been around a lot lately. I hope things are okay. Karen

This nursing home sure is full of characters and personality quirks. The surname or first name (not sure which) of "Barfett" is hilarious. The reference to Moaning Lisa is true to life, as I remember someone who was constantly wailing at one or more nursing homes I have visited over the years. I rather thought the Italian Don Juan was going to have an Italian nickname rather than Jerk Beefy. Howard Martin doesn't sound like an Italian name, though. Maybe have Howard Martin be one of the constantly bored residents who has a tendency to fall asleep, and have the Italian man named something more regional, like Leo or Gino.

Hahahah how are you the only one to pick up on his name being out of sync? Hmmm.....guess you should be assisting Hattie. You are hitting on all my built in plot twists.
Thank you for the awesome rating!

In my humble opinion, stories are about characters, and plots are simply what the characters do. So, you're certainly off to a great start of creating believable, entertaining, and amusing eccentrics. Thanks for sharing.

This is sounding great, Doug, and I'm wondering if she's going to turn into some kind of sleuth in a murder mystery in the home. It's just that we've got an author (Richard Osman), here in the UK, who started a series of this kind of genre, called The Thursday Murder Club, comprising a group of elderly residents in a posh residential home (Stephen Spielberg bought the film rights). Love your protagonist and her vivid imagination with the residents' and staff names. The dialogue with Chatty Kathy is superb and very realistic. I see lots of potential here for quite a wild ride and I'm sure someone's about to be murdered:)) Looking forward. Take care Debbie

Please never let anybody place me in a nursing home. I doubt I would do well there. Thank you for sharing this post with us. I can't wait to read more. Your characters are really good.

Well, they really do seem to be a motley crew! Sounds like a nightmare place to live. No one quite like Hattie or likely to become a close friend. I hope she doesn't become the murderer - or the murdered one! Well done.

I don't think Hattie too happy. She does see these characters as people she can relate to. She has a name of all of them. An unflattering one at that. The way she describes them, they don't sound like anyone you would want to make friends with.

She'll have to watch out out for Howard Martin, he's off her social lis, but she's never going to make any friends if she keeps giving them names, she's figuring they are good enough for her, there's more to people than meets the eye, well done, good crossgender character, well done Douglas, blessings Roy,
