I understand. My heart says 'yes' you can do that. My brain and my body say 'no you can't' and laugh. Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us and good luck with the contest.

So many good poems for this. You used a good picture. And your poem was right on the money.
My rest is over, it is back to unpacking for me.
You have a good week. Karen

An excellent entry for the Cinquain Poetry contest. lol Very humorous as well as accurate poem. I tried to understand the jibberish that the computer was typing in your authors notes but i couldn't be arsed! lol Nice job,

Yes, as with many of us, we get older and more weary in time, still wanting to do all the things we once did, but not the energy or the time. Thanks for sharing.

LoL ! Thank you for explaining that interesting expression of "can't be arsed". It's nice to have arrived at a time of life when we don't have to be bothered about the many youthful ambitions. Best wishes in the contest!

Oh, a cinquain contest! Not sure if I ever wrote one of these, but the name rings a bell and whistles. Yep, I'm sorta feeling old and tired. I'm not a young ghost anymore! Yes, wish I could do the things when I was young. But our spiritual body lives for eternity so age is no factor of feeling old. Our body is a shell for our soul.

Nicely done!

I had never heard the expression "can't be arsed." Thank you for teaching me something new! You got the syllable count right for the contest, and I enjoyed your poem itself. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Jen,
your humor poetry made me smile.
I have a bucket list a mile long, but in reality, I won't realize most of my dreams.
That's where imagination to travel, etc., does overtime.
Maybe correct your author notes, with its scribbles.
Excellent humor, Jen.
Keep writing.
Cindy

Hi, Jen

I'm glad you put in your notes wihat the arsed phrase means.

Because it made no sense why she would be talking about her ass. Cracks me up. No pun intended

Now that it makes sense, it's still funny. It's true that we wish we could do all the things we were doing when we're young but now we can't be bothered because we can't do them.

This looks like a good entry for The contest. Good luck with that!!

Thank you for sharing

Cute and clever, this poem is humorous and fun. The picture is quite the old man from the sea or something like that. I love the funny way you use the term, "Arsed!"
To be bothered is the way we would say in our country of America. Thanks for the laughter and joking around good-naturedly.
Jesse
