What a clever prompt and you didn't disappoint here. Your vividly expressed free verse about day dawning simply didn't need mention of the colours, it's already rife with colourful imagery:) Well done and good luck! Debbie

Summer is an interesting time of the year, it can mean that it's extra hot, or delayed, but generally speaking it's a holidaying time, a time of joy, beautifully written my friend, great job, blessings Roy

Your poem, "Blushing dawn beams reach over the horizon," really brings summer to life. I love how you describe the sunrise as it turns into sparkling light and pushes away the last bit of night. The way you talk about the fresh breezes and fluffy clouds in a summer sky is so vivid. The lines about the landscape bursting into song and the colorful new day feel really lively and welcoming. Overall, it's a bright and uplifting take on summer that feels both fresh and celebratory. Great job with this 'colorless' poem

What a beautiful poem! Your words flow easily to describe the morning. I especially like "the last dark velvet shreds of night". You have a gift that I'm glad you shared with us. Well done!

I love to watch the sun rising above the trees in the early dawn and slowing across the river in my back yard. The LOrd has given us another beautiful day. Your words describe the beauty and the lusciousness of it. Well done!

This looks like a good entry for the contest. Good luck with that!!

I like how you painted pictures with your words. See below for three colors that you used. You're not allowed to use the names of colors in this contest.

The poem had beautiful images that you created and the ones that mentioned colors you can probably fix

Here you had better be careful because velvet is a color and that goes against the requirements of this contest. From the dictionary

Velvet is a color seen in abundance every Valentine's day in the ribbons that wrap around chocolate boxes "

"banishing the last dark velvet"

And, sapphire is another color. You're not supposed to mention colors in this contest.

"sapphire summer sky"

I enjoyed reading your poem

Verdant is also a color meaning green a specific shade of green

"The verdant landscape bursts "

Don't let me burst your bubble. Be happy that I found these things because now you can correct them and your contest entry won't be flawed by mentioning these colors. It gives you a better chance to win.

Good job. Thank you for sharing.

Definitions from Oxford dictionary: velvet-a closely woven fabric of silk, cotton, or nylon (no color stated) verdant-covered with grass, trees, and plants sapphire--a transparent, precious stone, typically blue. After viewing an HTML list of 140 colors and another list of 100 colors, none of these words appeared listed as color names. I appreciate your criticism and concern for my flawed work and winning chances. I've received no notice from the contest reviewers stating I needed to make any corrections or broke any rules so I'll leave my work stand as is and see what the voters think. Thanks for your review.
