Hello John,
this is a well crafted poem addressing an issue that many of us struggle with. We haven't learned the art of patience, and expect the Lord to answer immediately. Sometimes, it's not until much later that we see the reason for the delay. At times we may never know. I guess that's where faith comes in, knowing that He hears our prayers and answers them in His time. Thanks for sharing this excellent poem. Have a blessed day.
Tom

Thank you, Tom. I think the more advanced we get, the less patience we have. As you say, we expect the Lord to answer our prayers immediately. He doesn't change...everything works on His timetable and for our benefit, if only we have faith to believe. I appreciate your insightful review and comments. Blessings to you as well.

I remember a sermon where the minister said there are three answers to our prayers, yes, no and wait. I feel "wait" is the most difficult because as human beings we can be impatient. Excellent faith based poem that shows how we must accept God's waiting and continue to have a relationship with
Him.

I agree with you, the hardest thing to do is wait. I think waiting is God's way of testing our faith. And you're right, the stronger our relationship with him, the more faith we have and the more blessings we receive. Thank you for your review and kind words.

This is beautifully said! Thank you for the reminder the He patiently waits for us, no matter where we are in our journey. I love "gard'ner of my soul".

So very true! And even in the silence, He still speaks to us. Sometimes a YES is given right away and sometimes, NO. But sometimes WAIT is part of the answer and we know we can trust Him. Best wishes in the contest!

Nice poem John, especially those last two lines. You have some triple meter in there to fit the syllables but that's ok, and the reader can intuit it. I would suggest using a free transparency remover utility (like remove.bg) to keep your image on a uniform background, and then you won't have to struggle with trying to incompletely matching the color of your background to the picture. I tested it out with your picture and it worked well. Let me know if you want to see the sample image, or you can just try it yourself if interested.

Best regards,

SS

An excellent point! I was so concentrated on consistent syllables that I didn't pay much, if any, attention to meter. Thanks for pointing that out. Also, I'm not aware of the utility you mentioned. I'd love to see your sample image. And appreciate your very constructive review.

I enjoyed reading your poem. Sometimes, I feel as though God doesn't hear my prayers. I guess I am Impatient with him and want an answer sooner. I thought the poem is heartfelt, descriptive and well written. Very good job.

I think we are all impatient. Our culture and technology have made us that way. Computers have taught to want answers and want them now. Fortunately, God doesn't depend on computers, and He answers us in His good time. I appreciate your review and kind words. John

Faith entries are so interesting to read -mostly filled with a quiet but deep and abiding belief. This Faith poem has a beautiful metaphor at its core i.e Fruits of the Spirit growing like fruit on a tree' gard'ner of my soul.'

I like this - a different perspective on what seems to be unanswered prayer, but in fact, is God completing his work in us. Bringing fruit to full ripeness doers indeed take time.
