What a lovely cinquain! Beautifully written, thought provoking, positive. I particularly like the sound and meaning of the first word "sifting" that sets the tone for your write.
Congratulations on your second place win in the contest! Very well deserved!

Blessings, Julia

Life's journey is a difficult one to maneuver but traveling through it with the one you love makes it more special and we do find those rare moments of treasure. Thank you for sharing this entry with us. Good luck with the contest.

Well done cinquain poem. Your syllable count is right on and you give us a message we all can relate to. Thank God for the treasures among our memories!
I got your book today! And I love that you included your paintings - first very clear and then pixilated (did you paint those or use a computer to change the original paintings?)
Loved your beautiful tribute to both your parents!

Thank you, Helen, first for your review, and second for ordering a copy of my book. In answer to your question, I used to computer to pixelate the images. I would need two lifetimes to paint them by hand. I so appreciate your support of my efforts.

I like the contrast of the gemstones in the gravel. Good descriptive words also. Great metaphor for life's unexpected moments of goodness and joy. Best wishes in the contest. Blessings. Carol

A lovely cinquain. I do like "the gravel of life" idea, producing the occasional gemstones. They anre more valuable because of their rarity. And the conclusion I a good choice of word. Best wishes for your entry in n the contest.

I agree with your sentiments. We need to sift through a lot of gravel in life to find a treasure, but it's worth the effort. Great entry for the contest.

I enjoyed you Cinquain poem. I like your reference to life as gravel we sort though and find gemstones of true rare treasures. This makes sense to me. Most of life is ordinary like plain gravel but there are the rare and wonderous moments we will keep in our mmeories as precious treasures. This one sounds like a winner.
