Oh, I'm so sorry that happened to you! Thank the Lord that the madman didn't have a gun. Why do people have such attitudes of entitlement to life and to all of the road?! Best wishes in the contest!

I thought you really captured the emotions of this moment. The tension, the apprehension, the danger; it's all there as we feel this guy pounding on the window, cursing, consumed by rage. And you really have to wonder if they're going to pull a gun and end your life over something like this. It is a picture of our times today, I guess. You hear about it all the time. estory

I'm so sorry that you had to deal with a road-rage idiot, but they are everywhere. Your husband handled the situation the smart way and you should be proud of him. Earlier in the summer I was involved in a similar conflict. A lunatic was cursing and pounding on my window and kicked my car door. I kicked my car door open, almost knocking him down, then I jumped out and punched him three times. The third blow left him lying on the ground. I felt really good about myself as I drove off, until I started worrying about what if the guy died. LOL. What to do? I'm glad it all worked out okay for you and your husband. Happy Anniversary!

Thank you for your review. I really thought my husband would open the door and punched that guy. I'm so glad he didn't

Oh how awful! I always wonder what snaps in a person like that and when they cam down (if the do) might any of them ask themselves what happened to the nice guy they thought they were? Probably not! They must think they are right regardless and deserve the right to intimidte others.

This was very scary and things like this happen all the time, fast drivers, tailgaters, and road hogs are narcissists looking for problems and people to take their anger out on.

I never had this experience. Yikes! I have been pretty lucky in my encounters with strangers. There have been some pretty rude ones, but I never felt danger.
I was a little bitty thing so folks did not consider me a rival. The closest I came was when my husband dared me to dance with a girl. I did. And the girl's girlfriend was not best pleased when we got off the dance floor.
I think my husband knew about the relationship, but I didn't. She was mad, I told her she had my permission to beat him up. She laughed and walked off. Karen

We all have things that hit the "punch them out" button. And sometimes no matter how evolved we think we are, we go a little nuts. I am not always a lady. I can understand the emotion, but I try hard to keep that sucker bottled up! :-)

God had heavenly angels surrounding your car that day. Unfortunately, there are mentally unstable people on the road. You just never know when you're going to encounter one. I'm glad your husband didn't roll the window down, and I'm glad you reached your destination safely. Your story is well written. Best wishes in the contest.

I like how you're telling it from your perspective so the reader can really be drawn in to your visceral experience. PTSD was created: "On our way to the hotel, I was constantly looking in the rear view mirror to see if the man was following us."
i had a very weird experience where I guess it was road rage I must have done some things I'm guided in like so he started kind of trying to get as close to my butt as he could and I went along and tried to act like I didn't see him and then I turned the the corner and he'll turn the corner I went up a road that my house is on he went up the road my house is on I didn't want him to know where my house was so I just kept going. I drove him around a couple more spins and the neighborhood andHe followed me the whole time It was very scary I think eventually I just turned into a friend's driveway and acted like that was where I lived. Now I'm framing the friend so they will be in trouble.

Thank you so much for the nice review. I never used to be afraid. But the world is a different place now.

It sure is a different world. I didn't want that person to know where I lived that was very scary. And I didn't even know what I did that bother him so I'm glad you were safe also. It does give us PTSD now though.

Yes it does. I'm glad everything turned out okay for you too.

Brenda, this is an important post! I hope it causes any one who knows that they have participated in road rage, to take a step back. And vow to never act like that again! Really a vital post! Maddy
