I like nature and all that too, but Gee Wilikers! I like your idea better. Trees are nice and all, but the feeling you get when you are with your dearly beloved, and they can't think of anything better that just being with you , holding and kissing you, and lots more. A tree pales by comparison. Karen

And as far as my life goes the tree I married was coniferous. She has not lost a leaf since saying "I do." The perfect woman for this imperfect man. Thank you.

Hey, I'm with you on this one. Women are definitely more lovely than trees, I guess unless you're another tree, in which case you would probably find a tree more lovely. However, Kilmer is talking about poems not being as lovely as trees, but I'll bet there are plenty of rotten poems that aren't as lovely as a particular tree unless that tree is really ugly. Then it becomes a judgment call as to which is lovelier. But, once again, if you're a tree, there are likely no poems as lovely even as the rottenest tree.
Seriously, though, I think this poem was lovelier than most trees, though not most women.

I think someone slipped a mickey into your tee, and awaken the guru in you for this review. That said, though they won't say. I even think a tree would find a woman more tantalizing than any tree even when they are swaying salaciously.

Yes, it does, though I do agree Trees can be beautiful; however it is difficult to have one stand out in a forest whereas in a crowd how many ladies stand out?

WOW! Your wife is very lucky that her husband has such romantically fabulous ideas about her . The last lines confirms that she is more precious than the tree..This after three stanzas of establishing that she is more beautiful..
