I love the funny little twist at the end of this chapter. It was perfect and added a touch of humor to an otherwise serious story. I will catch up on the other chapters later today.

Hi, April... My fingers have been flying off the page trying to catch up and I know am satisfied that things are going well. I posted two chapters yesterday and two today and I am cross eyed from staring at the computer. Time to get off and take my son for his birthday dinner. Hope you enjoy the story...It's moving fast now.

Eleanor manages to help her sister feel a little better and offers to pay the ransom, but she has no intention of losing that money. She believes her brother has turned over a new leaf, but that is questionable. Donatelli probably half-way believes he has been dreaming, but seems to be going to do as Eleanor asks, although the part about the judge isn't something he can believe. You have everyone in place for the action, although Megan isn't available to be rescued apparently. Great set up for more action.

I think with help, Jonathan will keep his promise. Donatelli who is sleep deprived isn't sure what is actually happening, but is taking chances that it might be real. Megan is still out there somewhere but Eleanor's working on it.

Reading...She pulled documents and miscellaneous items from the safe, but the necklace wasn't there. She immediately hurried to her dresser, pulling each drawer out and frantically rummaging through it, one after another. Nothing was there. Hum, I wonder who stole the necklace? Plot is thickening. Reading...Jonathan reached into his pocket and pulled out the blue box, opening it to reveal the diamond necklace. He held the box out to her. "Trevor was going to pawn it. I got it back before he could." Good thing Jonathan got it before the necklace was pawned! Reading...Megan was kidnapped, I see... Jonathan said he would pay the million bucks for the ransom. No need to sell the necklace. Reading..."Detective Donatelli," Eleanor called softly.

Frowning, he blinked his eyes, muttering, "It can't be." He rubbed his eyes and looked again. "It can't be you again. I must be dreaming." Hahaha! You would think that the Secret detective saw a ghost! Very nice chapter! Catcha on the next chapter! I gotta couple of ghost stories in my portfolio.

BOO!

I'm glad you are safe and back on the job. Eleanor admits she can do more things than she could when she was alive. As she helps her family, it sounds like she is also having fun. Her final word, "Boo," proves it. I think you're having fun also. I know I am, as I read.

I am having fun! I am so happy to be able to be writing again though I do have to take a break this afternoon. It's my disabled son's birthday and we are going out to dinner. It's something he enjoys. but I must keep at the story or the sand will run out of the clock. LOL

I'm so glad, Carol, that you're okay, and that you're back with the story. It's a great continuation. I simply loved it. That Eleanor is something else. Especially as a ghost. A big hug, Ulla xxx

Thanks for all the good wishes and hugs, Ulla. I am so happy to be back doing what I love, but I lost almost a week. I'm just writing and if I make it fine, if not...oh well. I love Eleanor and her antics. I'm glad you do too!

You sure know how to make being a ghost sound like so much fun, but I'm afraid that with a personality like mine, I'd probably create complete chaos with Eleanor's skills. :-) Thanks for sharing.

I read this out of order, again. Sorry. If Eleanor gave Matthew coffee and he listened to her, why does he still believe Doyle isn't involved? He sould be softening in that area.

"Try me." Donatelli insisted. (me,)

Eleanor smiled, "Judge Doyle." (smiled.)

He's a hard headed Italian who doesn't want to admit he knows he's wrong. He does know but he wants to admit it on his terms.

thanks for the help and review.

I'm taking notes for another novel, and so far, it has a hardheaded Italian chef as the hero. I hope it works out, so for in my notes it looks good.

A cute chapter with Eleanor making multiple visits with people in her life. First, with her sister Margaret and brother Jonathan, who are trying to figure out how to get a million dollars to get Megan from the kidnappers. Eleanor promises to help.

Then we see her reappear to Donatelli in his car, much to his ongoing disbelief. She magics him a couple of cups of coffee and asks him to follow Jonathan to see who get the money.

Great development in your story,
Take care,
Rhonda

thanks Rhonda. It's a lot to put in a chapter, but if I am going to catch up in this contest, I have no choice. I hope it's not too much.

There is plenty of tension and drama in the first part of this, nicely balanced with humour towards the end. I'm having difficulty with this transubstantial ghost of yours who can click her fingers and produce cups of coffee! I thought I was the only one allowed to have ghosts with flesh on their bodies! LOL
I'm glad to see you back safe and sound. It must have been a worrying few days.

Since I don't know anyone who has actually had a ghost as a friend, I figure I'm safe in imagining my ghost my way and hope those who read the story can accept that. I make her fun and loving...that's what counts.

Oh now things are hotting up. The Judge has messed with the wrong family. Or, should I say, the wrong ghost!!! Lol. I think Eleanor is enjoying her death, I would too if I could do that. :)) I'm glad I managed to read this before we go away, I'll be back on Wednesday, and if I'm not too tired, I'll check out the chapters I've missed. Well done, my friend, it's lovely to have you back and in control of your life again. Love you lots. Sandra xxx
