This is so powerful. The way you capture the lingering presence of those who have passed is deeply moving. The structure, gradually narrowing down to the heart is so creative. You share with an emotoinal punch the cherished memories of loved ones. Fantastic writing.

Hi. Love the image

I am the opposite. Every time I get a stray thought in my mind about one of my lost animals. It makes me feel good.

Because I only have good memories of that animal

I noticed that you did not include pets in your family members. A lot of people think of them as part of the family.

I think I may have misinterpreted this. My original comments above were based on your poem only and not your notes.

Now that I've read your notes that the haunting is the fact that they're gone and the memory of when they died not good or bad memories that you don't want to remember because it's too painful
