Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. As I read, I felt as if I were sitting the bank and watching the river flow by. I enjoyed reading. Good luck with the contest.

I do love the sound of water - a bubbling brook, a flowing stream, a waterfall, crashing waves - or even raindrops on a roof. The picture you painted of sutting by a river is serene and relaxing. A lullaby from nature . Lovely entry for the contest.

Between the poem and the photo I am ready to find a river to dip my toes into! This is an excellent entry for the Rhyming Poetry Contest. Thanks for sharing. Good luck in the contest.

Ever since I was a young girl the water has been a constant lure for me where I can sit peacefully and think. A place to let my sorrows go or a place to lift up my prayers to the heavens. Your poem takes me there. Well done.
Smiles, Carol

This poem creates a serene and immersive experience through its evocative imagery and soothing rhythm. Your work shines in the following ways:
1. Imagery and Atmosphere: The imagery of the river as a lullaby and its "calming rhythm" effectively establishes a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. The descriptions of the "blissful crystal water" and "peaceful trickles" enhance the sensory experience, drawing the reader into the scene.
2. Engaging Language: The use of phrases like "zen encasing lingerings" and "natural euphoric high" conveys a deep sense of relaxation and connection with nature. The language is both elegant and vivid, contributing to the poem's overall calming effect.
3. Emotional Resonance: The poem captures the essence of finding solace and rejuvenation by the water, with lines like "Immersed in nature's lullaby" beautifully summarizing the emotional depth of the experience.
Suggestion: To enhance the flow and cohesion, consider slightly adjusting the rhythm or structure to create a more seamless reading experience. For example:
A Lullaby, the River Sings
The calming rhythm soothes the mind,
A zen encasing gentle winds,
The blissful crystal water winds,
It lures me with its soothing rush.
At water's edge, my toes will brush,
The flowing water closes eyes,
My body breathes the water's breath,
A natural euphoric high.
Enticing life, repelling death,
Immersed in nature's lullaby.
Your poem beautifully evokes the tranquility and rejuvenation found in nature. The lyrical quality and vivid imagery create a powerful sense of calm and immersion, making it a truly soothing and reflective piece.

This is lovely. We used to have property with ten acres of woods where we had winding trails to ride our horses plus a stream that flowed through it. Thank you for prompting the memory!
