Looks like things are about to come to a head, or at least they are moving in that direction. But with you, we never know for sure. LOL. Thanks for sharing another fine chapter.

You have created an exceptional cast of characters. Some are lovable, like Eleanor and Jenna, mysterious, like Jonathon, Nick and Trevor, and dislikable, like Judge John Doyle. I haven't decided how to classify Margaret yet. She thinks mainly of herself, but has low self-esteem, or she wouldn't settle for another woman's husband. Okay, now Donatelli has egg on his face. Hope he wipes it off and willingly works with Garth.

Donatelli is going to learn real fast... And Margaret will be nearly destroyed before she opens her eyes to what the Judge really is.

I didn't think it was possible to like the Judge less...I was wrong. I'm SO tickled his darn "insignia/emblem" gave him away. I feel Margaret will fold easily when confronted with the suspicions... Meanwhile, where the heck is Megan? Did that rotten judge think murder was in the cards? That's a bit like "overkill" (pun intended)--

A lot of threads to this story and they're weaving into quite the tapestry!

Could Nick have taken Megan out onto the patio to give or sell her to the guy waiting out of sight? Her mother has her own problems hanging out with a dangerous man who will do anything to get what he wants. You are building the tension very well.

thanks Carol...Yes, Nick has his own agenda when it comes to Megan. He might be doing the judge a favor but he has his own plans too.

Hi Carol, this is another great chapter. I'm struggling to keep up with it all as I'm also writing every day myself. Besides, I'm quite busy with other things. But hey ho, I signed up for this.
I still don't like that judge. As far as I'm concerned, he's a criminal. Ulla xcx

I read out of order again. LOL Yes, that hunky cowboy does know what he's talking about. Enjoyed reading.

"I want this area secured. No one can leave until we thoroughly question them, none of this "I've got your name, and I'll call you later." (omit the quotation marks in from of 'I've')

"No, but I did hear them talking about a party/ It sounded like it was (party.)

It seems that the judge has sown a field of trouble for himself, I remember that proverb, what we Dow, so will we reap, the kid Nick coukd be involved in this, it seems he is a little too sure of himself, now Donatelli is remembering what the cowboy said, well done, Carol, great posting, blessings Roy

What a sleezeball, (have I said that before?) I do not like the Judge! But I'm glad the officer saw the Judge, now he'll have to find an excuse. I hope they fix him!!!! The state of that house! I would blow my top, but I've heard about kids like that for real. Now, I need to go to the next chapter. Another lovely chapter, my friend. :) Sandra xxx

Between storms and destruction and trying to write this story I think I am going mad. We are suppose to get more tonight. The river is already way over its banks. Flash flooding every where. So far, I am good. the story is adding to the fizzle. LOL

Love it!

I'm beginning get a handle onmost of the characters. I don't have to refer back to the cast list as often as I did. Maybe that's because you're individualizing their characters so well.

Nick sounds like a wild card. I'm expecting we'll see more of him at some stage.

Judge Doyle is looking less and less likely to become a Supreme Court judge.

I think Judge Doyle will look quite fashionable in prison stripes. And Nick...well, the young man might have decided to take advantage of a situation and strike out on his own. Definitely a bad move.

Off to the typing board...doesn't sound anywhere near as dramatic as saying the drawing board. But it gets the job done!

    Have a great day!

Yay, Donatelli finally sees the light. It's good that Garth gave him the information ahead of time so that he was ready to see the reality of what kind of man the judge was. It seems that Margaret doesn't value herself enough nor does she care enough for her daughter to stand up to the judge. Things are coming together!

You are right about Margaret. For some reason, she always thought she was inferior to Eleanor and carried that on to her other relationships. I hope its not too late for her to learn.
