I like the metaphor and personification of the garden. All the way through the poem I was thinking something similar to your last line. It is always good advice to follow. Jimmy definitely showed his love and would make the best husband for her.

Thank you so very much for your gracious review. Yes, you have the right Verna Mitchell (I usually use my maiden name in the middle for writing-for the benefit if those who knew "Verna Cole." Indeed, I have been writing for Faith Writers for a very long time . . . and I still do. I post sometimes when I write one there. I had so many from FW that an editor friend persuaded me to publish them in books of poetry-which I did. So I have lots of past and present writing to post when I can review enough or win some flex dollars to post.

As for the spacing, the entire site has been having fits. Hopefully it fixes itself soon.

Thank you so much, Cindy, for your great review. You're always an encouragement to me. Before I got married, my dad told me he was a big concerned that I would think marriage was a grand romantic venture all the time. At 20, that's just what I thought, till I started teaching school, keeping house, and I got pregnant, all before I was 21 three months later. I found out about life in a hurry, but it did work-not just the way I thought it would. In August we'll celebrate 66 years together. He's still my best thought of romance.
