This is a wonderfully written form for a child. Children need to learn about animals and how to treat them and how to enjoy them them and your poem would be very helpful in that endeavor. Patricia.

Very nice job. Your poem rhymed, made sense, and seemed to hit your target audience. That very true that dogs will greet you every time like they've never seen you before. The dog in your picture looks like my mother-in-law's dog Leo.

I think a dog is a wonderful gift and friend for any child, and your cute poem, is a great work that looks through the eyes of a child, it amazes me why kids aren't gifted one from parents, I had a wonderful relationship with a dog when I was a child, I'll always remember her, beautifully written Joanne, blessings Roy

Yes, I agree that this poem would attract a child. Most children love dogs. There are some that are afraid, but those are a few.
Using a dog to get through to children is something pedophiles do also because it's so effective. You know they'll say they have a puppy in the car. They can't find their puppy. The next thing you know a little girl or boy has been kidnapped.
So, I think you have a good chance to get through to children and win this contest
