Well, I have to admit that sometimes the classroom seemed like the perfect place to take a nap. My teacher just moved my desk out in the hallway, saying that when I got rested I could come back and join everyone else. Thanks for sharing.

I always loved the poem The Raven but actually this was a format made by a writer on this site Phyllis Stewart who died in 2018. After she make it up people started telling her it reminded them of The Raven.

It is not surprising these days that kids are tired, they spend far too much time on computers in the evening. This is a fun poem Beth and I enjoyed these humour here about this kids napping in class. Phones should be banned after 6pm each evening for kids to relax ready for sleep, love Dolly x

Oh, so true. Many children in today's world are addicted to their cell phones. I enjoyed reading this contest entry. The rhyming scheme is very good and helps with the smooth flow. Good luck with the contest.

I enjoyed this excellent poem, and I can see how a child could as well, especially one old enough to have a phone and go to school. I must admit, it was a real challenge in the classroom as a teacher when the school had a rule against students having them there.

Thank you Tom, I understand. I deliberately put in words they don't use regularly, although I know with all the television watching they have been exposed to them. I know from memorizing poems when I was in second grade, there were words I had idea what they meant like `imaculate conception', but I asked and I learned. It a good teaching tool to have some word they don't really know.

This is a good entry for the Poem for a Child competition. Many middle schoolers will relate to this one, I'm sure. Cellphones certainly can be disruptive to one's sleep schedules. Nice presentation, composition, and rhyme. I like that pattern used. Well done!

More than young children need to learn this lesson well.
Some people simply can not stay off their phones, not even for one moment.
They are addicted to them, just as much as the air they breathe.
Last line says it all "There are better ways I can communicate."

In my childhood, cell phones were strictly science fiction. The best I could hope for was an extension phone, which I never got. Kids don't realize all the great advantages they have nowadays.

Thank you Jim. In my childhood in my home just a regular old dial phone was science fiction for me. We didn't have one and I actually got nervous when I had use one.
