Ciao mystery poet, you have your first vote!
I love the expression: finger paint.
It reminded me of art hour at school when I was a kid
I loved to dip my fingers directly in the paint and
after the rain being a tomboy I also loved to play in mud puddles.
I 'd make mud pies and all sorts of animals. I was a mess after though. ( biggrin)
I love the cute artwork too!

I am so pleased I could put you there by that puddle finger painting. Many thanks, tempeste, for sharing my poem and your vote.

One of two that did not feel disjointed. I like the theme and the motif that brings it home. The subject is also quite relatable, as we all have found great pleasure in the falling rain, particularly, when we were kids. I see it now in my own grand children. Beautiful and relatable.

Thank you very much, RJ, for sharing and praising my poem. I am so pleased the tradition of playing in puddles continues with your grandchildren.

This poem reminds us of the hidden pleasures on rainy days, if only, like youngsters. we allow our imaginations to guide us - a lovely childhood activity celebrated here.

Thank you, zanya, for your kind praise. I see children on my block playing in the rain and I slip right back into childhood.

I loved to finger paint my name in puddles. There's something wonderfully nostalgic about this line. Reading it I feel a sense of carefree childhood days and simple joys. I could almost feel the cool water and the playful act of painting in it. Beautifully written!
