Congrats on this winning entry Harry.

Sadly, the little girl's memories will be reinforced by the tree she will start with a seedling. Too many of our hero soldiers come home maimed in body and soul. Those that don't are never forgotten.

Poor little girl. More common for the greatest generation and the one before them. The soldiers from World War I and World War II. We go by cemeteries I think there's at least one in every city that have nothing but white crosses for fallen soldiers. It's sad going by them.

Thanks for the read and comments. I believe a haiku is about nature, a senryu about humanity. Is that correct?
