Wait! What???? This poem didn't win the contest? How? It's so cute. I love poems that rhyme and have meter. The rhyme scheme is very obviously abcb. The meter is a little irregular with 2 and sometimes 3 feet per line. But it's still very song-like. (I like poems that can easily be put to 4/4 or 3/4 meter music.) It also makes me smile and think! I wonder what the winning poem was.

I have to agree with your call on why it didn't win. I read the other submissions and didn't think they were near as good as mine was. But who am I to make the jufgrment call right? I hope you have a blessed day.

Oh well! You might can submit it to another website where they might even pay you for it. I've written a couple of short stories on FanStory that didn't place at all, but I submitted them to a call for an anthology and sold the story. I found out different anthology and web magazaines from "The Submission Grinder." The magazines only pay $15-$50 for each story or poem, but it's nice to be appreciated! LOL!

This is certainly much more on the mark than most have been. I think they don't remember what kids were like. They like silly and funny and like to feel smart. You accomplished all that here. Good luck.

Very adorable poem for little ones! While I was reading it, I feel all your animals selection were too familiar, and too common. Another words, there are a lot of these animals existed or have mentioned it in almost all children book. I would have given you a 6 stars if your animals are more unique like a Zebra, Giraffe, a friendly Snake, etc...

Thank you for taking the time to read and review my poem. The reason I didn't use exotic animals is because most children don't know what a zebra or giraffe sounds like and I wanted to use the animal sounds as a main theme. Good luck and have a blessed day

What a fun read for the youngsters- and those young at heart. I guess I am a whiz - guessed them all. The rhythm and rhyme were perfect for a child. Might create an interest in writing their own poems. Well done!
