Your poem beautifully shares a message of love. The progression from love's initial promise to the enduring hope of marriage and the dream of a happily ever after is so touching. The final line, "unfeigned till death we part" is perfect. Great job!

"This poem is just a fantasy of pie in the sky".
That would be the opinion of many people who read your poem. But, that is not my opinion. I was blessed to be brought up around a group of Christians. People who embraced a culture of one man one woman joined in holy matrimony faithful to one another till death do them part. I have many friends who have been married for over 40 years. Among my friends, the majority live seemingly happy lives that are centered on this family concept. It's biblical and it's also satisfying. My wife and I've been married 45 years. Thanks for much for writing and sharing.

This naani, Promised, has the proper twenty-three syllable formatting and reminds us that a marriage vow has a lifetime warrantee which should never be questioned.

I believe this too and coming on 49 years of happily married. I so enjoyed your naani poem. Beautifully written and illustrated for the contest. Sending you my best today as always and my very best wishes for the vote.

Sally,
Thank you for your wonderful review of my Naani poem "Promised." I was inspired to write about a newly married couple and the lifelong commitment they have decided to embark on.
All the best,
