A very somber poem a out a true life experience for so many. Your motif reflects this very well. One of the members of my church was a little boy and was rescued from a death camp in WWII. Very sad time of the history of human cruelty.

Hi Gypsy,
I do so enjoy your clever, artful and expressive poetic finesse.
The chosen words speak for themselves with wise imagery and clever rhetoric.
The overall presentation of words, images and meaning are flawless.
Blessings

cool quotes! especially the doomed to repeat the past one - it seems we're heading backwards :-P
a great jisei poem about the holocaust - yes, we must remember all history. . .
great imagery with the souls ascending to heaven leaving barren fields behind...

This is a different theme to the ones I've been used to lately with its dark, colourless visual skilfully reflected in your poignant verse of death. One is immediately immersed into a sense of fear and foreboding. Thanks for sharing, Gypsy. Take care Debbie

I used to write a lot of horror haiku with Dean Kuch, a talented poet and artist who passed away in 2016. Now I don't write too many. Most of my poems are influenced by whatever is on my mind. This one came to me during the night... I was half sleep.
Thank you very much for reading and reviewing all my different genres.

What a powerful reminder of what can come of unchecked power. It appears the Supreme Court will do anything to save the former president...
I feel we may be witnessing the demise of democracy. If ever there is a reason to think carefully about the character of our president as we contemplate the future, it is now.
Your poem takes my breath away...

Hello, Karen,
I'm very depressed and afraid about our country's future and it reflects in my poetry. I pray for our future.
Thank you very much for your exceptional six stars review and kind words.
Love,

It's agonizingly worrisome.
Doom is on the horizon if people vote wrong!

I agree... I just pray and will vote when it comes. I'm stressed and very depressed.

I am as well. Too much news in one sitting makes me very anxious.

I was disappointed, too the the Supreme Court ruling. But think about it - the Republican Party is out to attack Biden every chance they get and so they are attacking his son, who really is guilty of some crimes. The Court's decision is not just about Trump but about all future presidents including Biden. The evil people who just want their party's power, will do everything to keep the president in court battling some charge or another all the time. That's why they ruled the way they did.
It's true that Trump liked Hitler's book so we should keep praying that he will not be elected.

I'm praying too, only God and voters can save our democracy. I'm depressed and feel like crying all the time. I don't watch any Trump videos but the Biden videos are depressing. I hate how mean some people are to Biden. I'm worried about his health. Getting rid of him is not the answer this late in the race.
Thank you, big sister. I appreciate your concern and prayers. I try to focus on love and not in fear. My bipolar disorder doesn't help.
Love you,
Marival

This is very true as our freedoms have slowly been disappearing these past few years. It makes me sad as I read how they are leaving us. This upcoming election is very serious, and I'm not sure anybody is taking it seriously. Thank you for sharing.

Because they have departed in places from the law handed down by God to Moses, they are enjoying the fruit of turning their back on God, no longer a land under God, now a people under chaos, well done Gypsy, well said, blessings Roy
