Your poem does a wonderful job of sharing a sense of admiration someone's beauty. At least that is how I read it. I love the line about the profound gaze of their eyes. Well written and so enjoyable to read.

I like your ideas. It's "loses" himself inside. The dark eyes can be lost in with dots plying the story continues, maybe forever.

Yes, the eyes are the reflection of the soul, so the blue of the eyes of a lover can be reminding the captivating sea whereas black eyes ( very rare, most dark eyes are in fact brown ) are like two very deep holes, like dolls eyes, giving the illusion of infinite depth,
