I think I'd be camping outside screaming he's innocent if it was my son! Lol. A mum knows her children inside and out, unless, of course it they had moved away for a few years. I know people change, but that is one heck of a personality change. Off I go again. :) I'm enjoying this. :)) Sandra xx

Thank you Sandra.

I'm wondering, since Rachel is the one making arrangements, perhaps she'll decide to accompany her mother. Maybe she's hoping he's innocent, and perhaps thinking that a visit will help her to decide.
Thanks for sharing this chapter, Jacob.

You have done a good job expressing the anxiety Stacey is going through with her daughter just by wanting to see her son. It will be interesting for Joshua to talk about what happened in his words.
Note: An easy typo fix -- 2nd sentence, 1st paragraph:
I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since it was first suggested
(to) me earlier today.

So sorry, I read these out of order. I was wondering as I read the previous post how it got from where you'd left off to visiting Joshua, now I know. Thank you for sharing.

Excellent dialogue moving the plot along and revealing the tension and tentativeness Stacey is experiencing. Rachel seems ok with the idea which is obviously a relief (why do I have my suspicions about her?) The next stage will be interesting when Stacey visits. An edit below:
since it was first suggested (to) me
You've got me hooked here. Debbie

I'll be interested in seeing how that goes. I hope he really is innocent but we only have his mother's word for that and a juror who indicates she believes he is although, she voted with the others to convict I think. The English system may not work the same as here where all twelve have to agree.

Hi Jacob,
It's good to see young people writing on this site. You have a promising career in front of you!
I like your story. A mother seeks to see her jailed son for the first time since his incarceration. It's a difficult thing to see, but she is determined.
We see her doubt and frailty, but her friend promises to help. We'll see if she's able to prove his innocence.
Thanks for sharing,
Rhonda
