Brenda, I just love this poem! And the story that goes along with it! It's absolutely sublime and has maybe different special meanings for people! Like for me, for instance, I am older and retired now and can spend time writing poems and prose! Then pestering my family to read them, haha! Maddy

What a great idea! Using an upended tree as a plantar. Old trees have such character. We have so many burned specters here in Oregon now after all the fired. It is hard to remember what the old growth looked like. Esther

Yes, the old trees know how to regenerate and amid the rot and decay, they can help flowers grow and proliferate. I love the smell of old trees and new trees don't smell bad either. I feel happiness whenever I am around old-growth redwood trees. The aura, and the smell both are pure heaven. Thanks for helping the world be a better planet.

What a fabulous idea! I love the picture. I hope the upside down tree is stable enough against any future storm.
I like how your poem addresses the tree and gives us the stages from the original life, to the time of destruction, and then to renewed purpose!

Repurposing things we loved into something as wonderful is something I certainly love. I hate when I hear my children saying just through the old thing in the trash, nobody wants it. Sometimes, something beautiful like the apple tree can come of it.

What a splendid use for an old friend. These days you see folks tossing stuff away. I never throw anything away I donate or reuse, repair and recycle. We were raised to do that, Nowdays, I fret for our youth who are so dependent on computers and phones that they lack basic skills. Nice poetry. Karen
