We are definitely a work in progress and your marvelous poem is excellent reminder that we are children of God and He isn't finished with us yet.

A beautiful write, MariVal. Every word strikes me as heartfelt, a song of praise to God. It reads as a modern-day psalm. Yes, we are the beloved children of God. I love the ritual of my church where the priest says after Holy Communion, "Beloved, depart in peace". We are challenged to love ourselves and others as God loves us. This is my work in progress.

It does come from my heart. I'm not a Bible expert but I feel close to Jesus Christ.

Your poem captures this very thought - works in progress but He views each of us as His masterpiece. (The Greek word is "poiema")
