Well done Enrico! This is beautifully composed, a tribute to this remarkable flower. Not only do you give us a rich background for us to savour, but also you add still more character by capturing its romantic connotations. Your verse is a delight to read with assured rhyme and a lovely upbeat tone. It so nearly reaches a 6* for me but the 6th stanza struggles a bit with flow. The 2nd line repeats 'old age' with the word 'senescent' and the rhythm is lost in the 1st and 2nd lines. Maybe:
A prophesy for stable life/ a hopeful, proud old age?
Also the last stanza: And women to(o) ; th(ei)r due.
But thank you so much for this enjoyable and informative verse! Take care Debbie

Thanks Debbie for your soooo encouraging review. As always I feel so encouraged. And thanks also for your criticisms without which I would never learn. Although I can understand and enjoy much of the repetitivity. in this I believe you to be right...

We need some more old-fashioned poems. About the simple things, like love, passion, and truth. What a wonderfully written poem. Best of luck with your writing!
Have a great day, and God bless.

Thank you so much Mike for your review. Although I am an old git, I often get it wrong. You are very encouraging. Thanks.
