I guess when you are use to a pattern or a set way of doing things and they go wrong and not fixable, then you are down until you come up with a plan or change your course.
This poem will give people something to think about and good luck with it.

Hi, Nina

Yes. It must be awful to be homeless. I took in a lot of homeless people into my house. One of them was sleeping out in Golden Gate Park on the bushes in the mud. First thing he did was shower, but he did clean up the bathroom very well.

I'm not sure how many homeless people I took in. Maybe it was seven or eight people. One of them ate at a grocery store out of the dump there He ate orange rice whatever he could find.

He had his pride though. He would not accept any food that we tried to give him. He had no prospects in life. Once I moved from that house, he probably became homeless again.

One of the homeless people I let stay with me robbed me of some quarters dimes nickels. It didn't really bother me. But later I got this note that he was sorry and that he was going to pay me back. Then, after that, I got regular baggies full of coins. Then when I moved that stopped.

I think you did a good job describing how full of angst it is to be homeless. You might make friends with the ants but more than likely you're going to dislike them if you have any food on you.

Your poem made me want to scream. But, I truly enjoyed reading it

Good job. Thank you for sharing.

I don't think any of us are very far from the precipice, it's amazing how fortunate we can be, nobody wants to be thrown out of their dwelling place, beautifully written, blessings Roy

This poem was quite upsetting, but that's a good thing. It means you managed to evoke a strong feeling in the reader. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

I enjoyed listening to this, and I have the feeling within my soul that this person that you have depicted in the short poem is very close to the realization that something has to change in her life. I enjoyed it very much and I wish you the very best with all of your writing. Patricia .

Thanks for bringing to our attention in highlighting the problem of homelessness. Your short poem intimates the reality of most homelessness. Although it is often ignored, ill advised and unhealthy choices are often at the root cause. The lament of this homeless woman was: "How did I get here?" Self disclosure is difficult.
