Well Rachel, I like this work not only because of the biographical references but also because it has a positive message for kids that of of settings goals and the importance of keep trying even in the face of failure. This read was very enjoyable and I think it should be sent to a children's magazine. xoxo

Wow! What a really nice review. Thank you, Harry. You're always so generous to me. I appreciate this. xo

Reading this was like reading Dr. Seuss, especially the line, "No, it did not!"
I once read that Stephen King had a room wallpapered with rejection slips; now he's the number one selling writer in the world.
Teaching our children this lesson is one of the most important things we can teach them.
Great poem, great lesson, great image.
How did you do in the contest? Wait, I can go check that myself. Motivational poem? It sure is!

No, it was Kiddie Poem or something like that. Anyway, I lost out to a piece by Boogie Nights entitled "Mama's Little Helpers," which, I will fill you in about in a PM, because the irony could not be more hilarious.
Thanks for the kind words about my piece.
Signed,

It is a six but I already gave you one of those today. Smile. It made me think of Thomas Crapper who "find the flush toilet". I looked him up to find he didn't, but he was hired by Price Edward to construct lavatories in royal palaces. Learned something new today kindness of your entry. Smiling! Esther

Not exactly a fun fact to know and tell just anywhere - but knowledge, nonetheless. And, as the meme goes, "Knowledge is Power." So, I guess that makes it very powerful crap that we now both know! Thank you for that, Esther!! xo

I just read the objectives of a writer's website where they send you a chart to record your 100 rejections for publication of your work per year. The idea is...if you get that many rejections, you probably will have 5 or 6 successes.
Your inspirational poem is suitable for adults as well as children. However, children are more prone to sadness and abandonment of their dreams. As a teacher, you've become an expert on motivating young people, as is obvious in this poem. Best wishes in the contest.

What a REALLY nice review this is! Thank you, LJ. I couldn't appreciate this more.
The success story fact that flabbergasted me the most - though I didn't include it in the poem - was that Jack Canfield, author of all those Chicken Soup for the Soul books? He had ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY-FOUR rejection slips!!! How's THAT for tenacious!! That one just blew me away.

Ooh I like this! I like the way it flows. Good cadence and tempo. And your word choices are excellent. I love the model T line. And this :
These stars we know, they would not stop
when reaching for their goal.
Not sure why, just hits the ear right :)

Great poem, author. I heard of these people, but I did not know the story behind their ultimate successes.
I think kids of all ages would enjoy your poem!
Good luck in the contest.

Yes, you have to believe in yourself and what you are about. Even in rejection, persevere. Like what you wrote in this poem, someone who believe in you will step in at the right time. Never give up. There is so much to say on this, it really means a lot to a child when someone (a teacher, parent, pastor, co-worker or friend) encourages them; pump them up to think I "can do it."
I like how you wrote about what these people went through before the became famous. Some became innovators, some became champions and the others, one became an author and one a producer.
I like your picture and the way you wrote your poem.
Good luck with it.

Thank you very much, artisart4u, for this super nice review. I appreciate your encouraging words. When you mentioned authors, it reminded me of this flabbergasting one that I didn't include: Jack Canfield, author of the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" books, believe it or not had ONE HUNDRED, FORTY-FOUR(!!!!) rejection slips before he finally got published!! And Dr. Seuss had twenty-seven.
Anway, I really appreciate your thorough and delightful review. Thank you.

This is probably the best "kiddies motivational poem" I've read so far. You did a great job encouraging the children never to give up. I like the examples you used. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.
