Ciao mystery poet, you now have two votes.

I don't have dozens of friends. I have three and when they need help, I do my best to be there for them.

Yet those few times I needed help in the past all three were too "busy ".

When we are young somehow we struggle and manage on our own.

Now that I'm older,I wish I could say I know my friends would be there if I got sick but I would be fooling myself.

Sometimes I feel like a real sucker cause I'm still there for them.

Sadly, the ones we care most about, are usually the ones that let us down.

I hope you are on the road to recovery and found the support you needed elsewhere.

Best of luck!

An excellent entry for the Short Poem writing prompt. Nicely written and unfortunately it tells the truth about human nature. The friends that stick beside you through an injury or a depression are true friends and there won't be many of them. hang on tight.

I think you did a great job with this fifteen word poem for the contest. You got the word count right, and the message was moving. I am sorry you felt this way. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.
