Wow Wendy, you know how to keep a reader captivated.... hmmmm, or is captured? No matter the bondage method, I couldn't look away, but I doubt I will be getting my skates on to visit such an exhibit... I prefer a tad of mystique, intrigue and a healthy shot of ignorance to keep the equilibrium just where I need it to be. Shock and horror may just tip the scales to an irredeemable position?

As always Wendy, your writing and research into the detailed account of this museum... well, it disturbing and not so good for a germaphobe like myself, yet saying that, the always is very concise and succinct writing skills, well done!. Hey((((((, but I'm still not sure just reading this late at night won't have dire repercussions.

With our thoughts we create...
an impenetrable barrier.

Kindest regards,
James.

Thank you James. A lovely and thoughtful review. I understand completely. I am a bit the same. Gross and disturbing museum but interesting and fascinating at the same time. Not for everyone!

Wow- what an amazing museum but what a good purpose it seems to be serving- helping to make us better people - not at all sure if I would be brave enough to enter those hallowed halls!!

Yuk. This sounds like a nightmare museum that I wouldn't want to visit. Certainly a disturbing museum. It would be interesting to see who went in and out of there. You've certainly ticked the box for this challenge, Wendy.
cheers,

This museum sounds like it would qualify as the Weirdest in the world. I can understand the benefits of the museum and can even imagine medical students being encouraged to visit. But as a lay person, they would never see me. Lol. Thank you for your research and letting us know this museum exists.

That's so cool...and horrifying. Thanks for sharing the existence of this wonderful, awful museum. This part was awesome: "It's hoped that the contents are irreplaceable. Why? Because the diseases are managed, and hopefully extinct, never to recur."

Hello Wendy,
what a fascinating article about this museum. I don't think I'd fly to Australia just to see it, but if it was anywhere near, I'd certainly go. Perhaps it would help me to change some of my lifestyle habits. I smoked for over thirty years, like an idiot. It wasn't until I finally realized that I liked to breath more than I liked to smoke that I finally quit, with God's help. We can be a stubborn and foolish people, and at times, it takes a reality check for us to change our ways. Its good to know that some folks come away from the museum with a desire to change their lives. Thanks so much for sharing this gal.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

Thank you very much Tom. Also got the amazing six stars. Greatly appreciated. You made my day. Our high school students attend a Drivers? Education program which includes graphic exhibitions of car accidents and talks by parents who have lost their children to drug or alcohol fuelled accidents or speed. The graphic reality hits hard, and seems to make a great impact on their driving habits. I think this museum would have a similar effect. Thanks so much for your thoughtful review and for the stars.

    Hi Wendy,
we had a similar program when I went to drivers ed back in high school. The thing is, it's not a mandatory program unfortunately. I think everyone should take it though. Most young people haven't got a clue about the rules of the road and how to behave in a car.
    Blessings,
    Tom

I would love to visit this place, so very interesting and fascinating, as humans we are curious one way or another and the weird or outrageous always captures my interest.

Oh, wow. What a terrific story about a fascinating museum, Wendy! I'd almost like to fly to Australia just to see that. Stuff like that really interests me. Perhaps I should have been a pathologist?

I can remember a film showed to us in driver's ed that showed real footage of the results of some auto accidents and what was caused by reckless driving and failure to wear a seat belt. I don't believe they show films like that anymore because kids are so delicate these days, don't you know? But it sure made an impression on me, and to this day, I always drive with a seat belt on.

That sounds like a fascinating museum, and it doesn't surprise me that some smokers were turned into non-smokers when they saw the physical results of the habit. That's what it takes for things to hit home with many people--actually seeing the results rather than simply reading or hearing about them. I think the mission of this museum is admirable.

You presented this beautifully and let the words of the museum director lend a real power to it. Well done with this fascinating post.

The museum sounds like a fascinating place. I would love to see all the exhibits you mention. However, my chances of ever coming to Australia are pretty slim to nothing. Nicely written.

Thank you for reviewing, Roy. Yes, my husband had polio as a baby, before the vaccine was invented, and has had lifelong consequences.
