The piece, Muse of Love, is properly presented in the 5-7-5 syllable count as specified in the contest rules. The poem was well done, and engenders sweet reflections. Good luck in the contest.

Just beautiful, mystery poet. I like you use of oft for often, it's rather Shakespearean and gives your poem a cutting edge in the contest. A winner in my eyes! Sending you my best today as always and my good wishes in the vote.

I can easily hear one of the famous song writers of the 30s uttering these words. So many great love songs came from that era. And the most "exuberant" were tunes sung on Broadway. Rod

Rod,
Thank you for your thoughtful review. I appreciate that you were able to hear in this poem the comparison to famous song writers of the 30s.
All the best,
Eugene

Many poets and writers can relate to your acknowledgement of the guiding light and inspiration a muse can provide. Based on the way I pronounce words, your second line sounds like six syllables rather than seven. If you count seven, please accept my apology for mentioning it. I wish you the best in the contest.

LJButterfly,
Thank you for your helpful review. You are correct. There are only six syllables. I added the word oft to the second line. The poem reads
Muse, my guiding light,
your embrace oft inspires love's
exuberant songs
All the best,
Eugene
