The title for this poem is perfect, based on your thought-provoking words. They remind me of my friend who searched for true love for many years and gave up by age fifty, before meeting the man of her dreams. Your poem speaks truth. Best wishes in the contest.

aw such a sad poem of settling without love...
very interesting and thought-provoking
good syllable count and smooth flow

one suggestion i have is maybe try a black background with a light lavender font? eh... just a thought

This 5-7-5, Unfound, has the proper formatting and speaks to the sad reality that sometimes ships pass in the night and never find each other while at sea.

This is a well written 5-7-5 love poem but I think you give up too easily. Of course, age reduces your chances for romance, but the last I heard, there are dances and gatherings for "old" people. =)

    Physical/medical limitations preclude the socializing, but I am content with my life and love in family, friends, and enjoyment of the things I love. Thank you so much for your review.

    No need to apologize--I was raised in a time when girls were told they would grow up, they couldn't date til age 16, & they would marry & have a family. This was repeated a lot from many sources--I grew up thinking this is what I was supposed to do. No one said--maybe no one will ask you on dates, perhaps no one will ask you to marry them, not everyone grows up to fall in love & live happily ever after. Times have changed & women can now have careers and children & take care of themselves without having to be married so little girls aren't filled with fairy tales that don't come true. I have a daughter & grandchildren & my life is good. I feel proud to have done it on my own. Thank you for your caring.

oft promised, but never found,
abandoned with age

These short poems are hard to write and you did a good job in the amount of words allowed. I also like the graphic as it enhances the presentation.
