She seems to have been a very good friend for you. I never really had pets I am allergic to feathers, fur, dander, mold.mildew. A lot of stuff. So, I had stuffed animals but they don't love you back:-( Karen

This was a lovely poem for the writing contest best of luck with that. I don't know if it's fiction or not but you were able to give your reader enough information to draw us in to the joy of Brandy.

This a beautiful tribute to your puppy.
It's funny you mentioned groundhogs... two days ago, my calm, elderly collie presented us at the door with a groundhog she'd caught and killed. I had no idea she had it in her. She loves our cats and carefully guards our bottle lambs when we have them in the house....all the same size. Yet she went berserker on the groundhog!

I feel your pain when she died. I was the same about my previous Labrador. Such gentle beautiful dogs. Mine didn't chase anything but was always very placid. A lovely poem, smoothly incorporating the required words. Best wishes for your entry.

Do you know that 98% of people misuse the word lay? Lay is either the past tense of lie or it is to lay something down like eggs.
When one goes to lie on the bed. That is the correct way to say it. Not I'm going to lay down but I'm going lie down
The reason I hesitated to tell you is that all of those people using lay incorrectly will probably think you are the ignorant one
If I were you, I'd change it to be correct. You can look it up to see that Lie is correct
I'm talking about here
" She liked to lay in the yard"

So sorry for your loss of your furry friend. Beautiful tribute to a wonderful best friend. He lived to a great age of 14 that's amazing, thanks for sharing, it must be very difficult without him. Well done

Seeing a groundhog turned her into a different dog

She was terrified of fireworks and lightning
