The bible says if a person has just one friend, joy is doubled, friendship is such a valuable thing, my wife and daughter are loyal friends and wives, they have retained their friendships from their youth, there's an old saying, if you want friends...be a friend, beautifully written, blessings Roy

In this case the Bible is correct. The world revolves around friendships. And of course, families are the first friends, or should be, with whom we directly connect. Thanks royowen for your review. I don't get many..XX

This is charming, lyrical and with a fine message and celebration of friendship. It's like a song with that repetition and its upbeat, characterful tone is an absolute pleasure to read. There are, however, some edits which I'll list below:

what (e'er) the need required
true friendship (ne'er) d(i)minishes.
Don't forget the apostrophe replaces the missing letter.
"With every true friendship we build more firmly the foundations on which the peace of the whole world rests" (Gandhi)

They may be incidental to you, as a self-made literary icon, but to me (who never seems to learn) they are torture. Even so, one must, never-the-less carry on regardless. Thank you Debbie..X

The truth is in experience,
once experience is known,
then we recognise those friendships
where the friendship tree has grown-
And should occasions fall apart
where living needs a hand,
that friendship shown will take a rest
there quietly to stand.
This is strong overall way to go.
