Thank you for sharing one of my favorite hymns, Jim. The older, rhyming ones were clearly written to honor the Lord and express our innermost feelings. Sadly, sometimes I feel the purpose of the modern ones is more along the line of putting everyone into a hypnotic trance, or raising them up into a crowd-frenzy. (Not to say that some of them are not really beautiful. -- I am especially thinking of the Rich Mullens song, My God is an Awesome God which is another of my favorites, but in a different way.) This flowed off the tongue and rhymed very beautifully. I enjoyed reading it very much.
Especially like the last Stanza. But, all of the stands were nice
I usually don't like religious poetry, but in this case, I did really like it
