This one-hundred-word story, Rainstorm Memory, has the proper word count and takes the readers into Jack's memory that seems upbeat until it is not. ...........

This is a very well written 100 Word dash you have penned for the contest. You used great descriptive words and very good imagery from the art work you chose. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

Life has a way of stirring up memories when we least expect it and the rain brought a lot of doom and gloom back to Jack's door step. Well done! Good luck in the contest.
Smiles, Carol

This story was captivating, but it was heartbreaking. You did a great job, as is evidenced by the feeling you gave the reader. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

A lovely little story. Your use of the rain as a backdrop was very effective in creating the mood/atmosphere of the piece, triggering a happy memory that brought the tears of lost love.
This may be an American difference, ignore me if so, but the past tense of 'spit' is 'spat' in British English, so that stood out as an error for me, but as I said, appreciate it might not be the case in American English.

You are correct, spat is the past tense in American English also. I have edited. Thanks for the catch.
