I do believe dogs can sense things about us. They can tell our moods, fears and emotions without us uttering a single word. This was such an emotional poem. I could picture it well. Gretchen

There have been times in my life, I won't go into them, right now, but times where I honestly believed the person listening to or cared for me was my dog. Dogs are very special. Probably why I always include at least one dog in my novels. Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem and presentation with us.

Animals are great for so many things. I definitely felt the emotion behind this. I have a son who is on the spectrum and has difficulty regulating his emotions. His pets have done wonders for him.
I love the graphic you put in here as well.

That's why our pets are so important to us. My dad couldn't communicate well and was just a difficult personality. But his dog always put up with him and understood him better than anyone.

In a way I can relate to these words. I worked with deaf mute people and truly admired the relationship they shared with their dogs. One called Bingo would alert me whenever Sherry needed a break.
Your Senryu is brings back some cherished moments in my life. I also had the pleasure of sharing my poetry with a mute person who could hear, but hadn't spoke for a number of years.
