I'm getting used to trying to catch up, but I'm starting to like the consecutive reads and not having to wait for the next chapter.
The storm sequence was exciting, and Lester's appearance outside Heddy's house was a surprise. I knew evil would come from Mrs. Collette's holding back mail from people. How you hold a particular thing in suspence intrigues me as a writer. I can't wait to understand Mrs. Colette's intentions at some point. Was it something to do with her childhood? Is she really the Villion everyone thinks she is, or will she change as a person with the upcoming chapters?
As the writer of this masterpiece, you have gradually made Mrs. Colette an important focal point of this saga.
I'm so enjoying this, Gretchen! Best, JohnC

There are some people who are just bad. I think Mrs. Collette is one of them. She's like a mosquito. Not a huge part of things, but enough to ruin a nice time outside. Lol. Thank you so much for this and for the awesome rating. Gretchen

Poor Mr. Collette. His wife has forced him to go get Lester, who does not want to return. Heddy wishes Mrs. Collette dead and doesn't intend to ask forgiveness from God as she doesn't think Mrs. Collette is good for anything except being mean.

Thank you, Carol. You definitely got where Heddy was coming from. Gretchen

I enjoyed this read all the way through. I can feel how the characters must have felt.
"I think I might hate Mrs. Collette. I know I shouldn't, but I feel a coldness gripping my heart whenever I think about her. She is a liar and probably a thief as well."
Strong emotions here

Hello Gretchen,
another outstanding chapter, and once again, I'm out of sixes. I love how Heddy thinks, and perhaps, much like her, I'm a bit immature. I rather hate the old bag myself, and frankly, I've found myself, as an adult wishing God would mete out what I think is justice for some of our politicians. Totally against what the bible says, but true nonetheless. Well done gal.
Have a blessed evening.

I'm guilty of the same thing. Then I'll stop and wonder who is wishing the same against me? I've been right where she is. Being told thinking I'll of someone is a sin, but I still do it. Thank you for this. Gretchen

I am glad that Lester sounds some sanctuary for a few hours. I have never been in this kind of storm before, and it must be very frightening and to then to find out news like this for Lester would add to the trauma. A fine chapter Gretchen, love Dolly x

Thank you, Dolly. Lester has had a rough go with the exception of Heddy and her family. Thank you for this. Gretchen

I really adore this little girl. She is very wise and caring. She is right about praying to be forgiven for something when you really aren't sorry. Mr Collette apparently does what he wife tells but he is apologising for her actions. He knows she is wrong. I love the story.

Thank you, Beth. Mr. Collette is kind of disenfranchised with his wife. He knows what she is but it's too much trouble to stand up to her. Thank you for this. Gretchen

Yes, ma'am, when dealing with God, we might as well tell the whole truth. I mean, what's the sense of polishing up that old lie when God knows the truth anyway. :-) Thanks for sharing.

So many people say, "I'll pray for you when they don't mean it ..."
I enjoyed this chapter a lot. I wish Lester can stay with Heddy's family.
That mrs Collette is a horrible person. Poor Lester.
Well done,
Gypsy

Mrs. Collette will hopefully get what's coming to her. Gretchen

Heddy has wisdom and understanding about spiritual matters, and I like her honesty. Mrs Collette is definitely mean. I'm hoping Lester and Willis have been able to share deep things and encourage one another. Very well written, Gretchen. Always a pleasure to read.

And I think Heddy (you) are right. A false heart ain't no place to have prayer.
I expect the wood will need some dryin' out before burnin'.
Well written.
Best wishes.

It'd be smokey if it does burn. Lol. Thank you for this great review and the nice rating. I appreciate it. Heddy is pretty stubborn. She's not ready to forgive Mrs. Collette. Lol. Gretchen
